‘OW DO!

meet Georgie

Georgie Beck about

I’m a Wedding Photographer based in the Yorkshire Dales market town of Skipton.  I’m definitely an outdoorsy girl.  I love a good hill climb with my tunes on and I love to travel and explore as many places as I can meeting as many people as possible.  I love a festival! I’m that girl who will talk to anyone, strike up a conversation with the next person in a queue A) because it makes the queue a hell of a lot more interesting OH and B) scarily, sometimes you know someone that they know!

I get asked what I do during the week, well this is me! My days are spent at the desk editing with the tunes on LOUD, blogging, designing albums, taking new bookings, meeting new couples, organising my diary and updating my social pages. When I’ve got a handle on that I’m out on the hills with my man and our dogs, hitting the yoga mat, spinning (literally) and dreaming about where my business will take me and who I’ll meet next. All of this happens and not a day goes by without a massive smile on my face! I am Mum to my greatest achievement in life, Lydia. She’s 18 and loving life at Uni.  Second Mum to Sam and Izzy and partner to Mark. All cricket mad!

This is my twelfth year shooting weddings. I spent ten years learning my trade as a press photographer at the Lancashire Evening Post before this. I really honed my craft during these years and met an array of people along the way including royals, politicians, sports stars and our unsung heroes. Redundancy loomed and I felt it was time to hang up the press pass and put everything I know and love into capturing Weddings and people. I LOVE IT!! This is the BEST thing I could’ve done after the newspaper scene – I just wished I’d have done it sooner!

When I’m not shooting a wedding or hauled up in my editing cave you’ll find me up a mountain or by the sea with the dogs and a beer.

Things i love!

01. BEAGLES

Betty came into our World eight years ago.  She’s absolutely crackers with a huge heart and a typical Beagle HAROOOOOO 🙂

02. COFFEE + CAKE

In the winter months I work alongside a local coffee roaster called Coffee Care Ltd.  They’re a great local family business that I absolutely love working alongside.  They create the best award winning coffee blends and you can buy them online too.  Go check them out and get your beans ordered!

03. THE COAST

Days off spent by the sea does something magical to the soul.  One of my favourite spots is St. Anne’s.  Dog friendly all year and it’s a massive stretch of sand.  The best fish and chips too!

04. TUSCANY

Extremely lucky to have been introduced to this beautiful corner of Italy by Clare + Scott who chose Tuscany for their wedding and took me with them.  It will forever be a special place.

05. WINTER WOOLIES

Nothing better than getting wrapped up all snug to head out in the cold then lighting the fire when you come home.

07. MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT

My greatest achievement in life, Lydia.  She’s only a ten-year-old mini-me in this photo and now is an Eighteen-year-old beaut studying to be a Nurse at Uni of Leeds.

Proud Mum.

08. FRIENDS + FAMILY

I have little to no social time during the Summer season which is part and parcel of the job.  We get so busy with life so making time for my people is important.  November to March is our time and I love it.  Christmas market catch ups and cozy games nights.

09. GIRLY TRIPS

There’s at least one annual girly trip on the wall planner each year. Making memories and having fun.  We just completed the Cleveland Way on our recent adventure.  Days walking and Prosecco by night.

10. WEDDINGS

Love, love, love!

11. SUMMER EVENING WALKS

When the editing is done for the day and school is out we love nothing better than heading out with the dogs into the warm summer air for a walk in the hills. This is Pendle Hill and one of my faves.

12. WEDDING DETAILS

13. YORKSHIRE

Nothing is quite as beautiful as home. This is Penyghent, one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks. If you haven’t been up this, Ingleborough or Whernside you need to get one on your radar.  I completed the Three Peak Challenge in under 12 hours with a friend a few years back and I won’t be doing it again!  Just one at a time from now on.

14. FESTIVALS

I love a good festival!

With wedding season busy, busy in the Summer time it’s leaves the options to a minimum but I don’t care where I head – just get me to a festival!

15. STEREOPHONICS

I’m a little bit in love with them. They’re the best band to see live and are on my playlist everyday.

16. SUNSETS

whats not to love!

you’ll find me here with a my drone!
