How do we book you?

Accepted Answer

Once you've checked I'm available for your date, I'll send over my booking details. To secure your wedding, I simply require a signed booking agreement and a booking fee. Once that's done, your date is officially in my diary!

Question 2

How much is the booking fee?

Accepted Answer

A £500 booking fee secures your wedding date. The remaining balance is due two months before your wedding day.

Question 3

We hate having our photo taken. Is that a problem?

Honestly? Almost every couple tells me this.

The good news is you don’t need to know how to pose or spend your day worrying about the camera.

My approach is relaxed, natural and people-focused. I’ll gently guide you when you need it, but for most of the day you’ll simply be enjoying yourselves while I quietly document everything that’s happening around you.

After twenty-five years behind the camera and more than 400 weddings photographed, I’ve learnt that the very best photographs happen when people forget they’re being photographed. That’s exactly what I’ll help you do.

Question 4

Do you take group photographs?

Absolutely.

I know how important family photographs are, and we’ll chat before the wedding about exactly who you’d like included.

I recommend keeping group photographs to around 8–10 combinations so we can capture everyone you love without taking you away from your celebrations for too long.

Question 5

You've never photographed at our venue before. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Of course it's lovely returning to venues I know, but every wedding is different anyway. One of the biggest things I learnt during ten years as a newspaper photographer was how to read light, locations and moments quickly. I always arrive with plenty of time to explore, find the best spots and make the most of whatever your venue has to offer.

What happens if it rains?

This is Yorkshire, so it's always a possibility! The weather very rarely stops us creating beautiful photographs. I've photographed weddings in sunshine, storms, snow, sideways rain and everything in between. Sometimes the most memorable photographs happen when we simply embrace whatever the weather brings. And if we do need to dodge a shower or two, I've always got a Plan B.

Do you travel?

Absolutely.

Most of my weddings take place across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and the Lake District, but I’m always happy to travel a little further for the right wedding.

Every now and then, a destination wedding comes along that’s simply too good to turn down.further for the right wedding.

Do you photograph destination weddings?

I do. While my heart is firmly in the North of England, I absolutely love the occasional adventure abroad. If you're planning a destination wedding, I'd love to hear all about it.

Do you offer wedding videography?

Accepted Answer

It's one of the questions I'm asked most often. The short answer is, not as part of my wedding collections. I've experimented with filming weddings in the past, but I found it took my attention away from what I do best: anticipating moments, reading people and creating beautiful, natural photographs. Trying to do both at the same time means compromising on both, and that's something I'm simply not prepared to do. When you book me, you're getting my complete focus as your photographer. If having a wedding film is important to you, I'm always happy to recommend talented videographers whose work I love and enjoy working alongside.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

I do! They're a brilliant way for us to get to know each other before the wedding and a chance for you to get comfortable in front of the camera. They're relaxed, fun and often leave couples saying, that wasn't nearly as awkward as we expected. Pre-wedding shoots are £250.

Do you photograph surprise proposals?

I absolutely do, and I love them. From helping you choose the perfect location to secretly waiting nearby to capture the moment you pop the question, I'll help you plan a proposal that's every bit as unforgettable as the answer you're hoping for. Afterwards, we'll celebrate with a relaxed engagement shoot while the excitement is still fresh. Proposal Experiences start from £395.

Question 12

When will we receive our photographs?

Accepted Answer

You'll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding, so you won't have to wait long to relive some of your favourite moments. Your full gallery is then carefully edited by me and usually delivered within 6 to 8 weeks during peak season, often sooner outside the busiest months. I'd always rather take a little longer and deliver something I'm truly proud of.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Accepted Answer

Yes.

Your photographs deserve to live somewhere other than a hard drive.

I offer beautiful handcrafted fine art albums, designed to tell the story of your day and made to be enjoyed for generations.

Album prices start from £500.

Question 14

Do you work with a second photographer?

Accepted Answer

For larger weddings, multiple preparation locations or couples wanting even more guest coverage, a second photographer can be added to your collection. The investment is £500.

Thankfully it's never happened, but if the unexpected did occur, I have an amazing network of trusted professional wedding photographers. I'd do everything possible to make sure your day was still covered by someone whose work and professionalism I completely trust.
