First up on the blog from 2022 has to be a Tithe Barn Wedding. I’ve shot the majority of my weddings this year at The Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey and it’s become a firm favourite of mine now. I had a triple header there one bank holiday – I may as well have pitched my tent!
Nestled in the picture postcard Yorkshire village of Bolton Abbey, this ancient Tithe Barn was lovingly converted specifically with weddings in mind. With views spanning across to the landmark Bolton Abbey ruins and overlooking the River Wharfe there really is no better view point. Bolton Abbey itself is littered with cosy tearooms, cafes and a village shop. There are plenty of hotels and cottages in the area for your guests to stay and the award winning Catgill Glamping site a stones throw away.
Ross and Kara fell in love with The Tithe Barn. Who wouldn’t?! Its cosy, but HUGE interior and candle-lit atmosphere lends itself to the vision they had for their February wedding if the weather wasn’t on there side and that it was NOT! Storm Eunice made an appearance and by God did she pack a punch. These two took it all in their stride and in true fun style just ran down to the ruins, laughed all the way, braved the high winds and headed straight back to The Tithe Barn to get the celebrations in full swing. I just LOVED Kara’s dress and her girls were toasty warm in chunky-knit cardies. Check out her flower crown too!
They are just the most fun couple to be around! They were married in The Priory Church of St Mary and St Cuthbert. With its riverside location right next to the ruins it made the perfect backdrop for their portraits even if it was a quick dash through the storm. The church is a super, special place to be. I mean just look at the detail in that wall behind the alter! WOW!
